This collection of digital images reimagines takes inspiration from the classic pin-up and runs with it wherever it might lead, pairing expressive character art with memorable women's quotes from philosophers, artists, activists, scientists, and writers. Is this feminist art? We certainly embrace female empowerment, diversity in art, and authentic individuality, Nobody Asked Her honors the complexity, resilience, humor, beauty, and humanity of women while celebrating the voices of remarkable women artists and thinkers who helped shape our world.

These images were originally conceived as "pinups of ordinary women." But the ladies ended up deciding for themselves where they wanted to go. Some wanted to pose. Some wanted to glare. And some wanted to strip off all masks and pretense. Proud that this visually and thematically loose series tries at least to ask questions about identity, character, and life under both the male gaze and the female gaze. Are these "pinups" after all?
