Hi everybody! I've decided to do a regular check-in in order to be sociable and try to connect with my fellow humans in case anyone wants to, you know, talk like just-folk at the bar counter of life. Or maybe merge together into a flesh-ball 8 billion strong, writhing and rolling across the land, looking for kicks.

For these regular updates, I'm going with a past/present/future thing. I'll talk about what I'm working on currently, what's on my Never-Ending List of Amazing Ideas (tm), and then talk about an old project with the benefit of hindsight.

So what's on the table? Today I'm contending with HCTZ for my blood pressure causing me to have to get up and go to the bathroom every 30 minutes, but I still intend to write a review for the movie Together starring Dave Franco and Alison Brie. Potential angles include "best date movie ever," having the reviewer (me) spend most of the review dogging Franco and subtly creeping over Alison Brie, who really could do better and might like someone who's more literary, hint, hint, or acknowledging that Franco and Brie are a real life couple and pretending I think the movie is a documentary about them. I really probably should pick one, but I'm tempted to everything-bagel it.

I also need to generate a clue today for the latest update on "You Have Been Selected to Participate in a Game"... I like to direct puzzle-solvers to various artists' social media pages or websites as part of their quest. https://www.daydreammisfit.com/you-have-been-selected

The upcoming project highest on my list is a short-story called "Last Night on Buffy," a turn-of-the-millennium piece about poisoning your husband. I think I can bang out the draft in 4-6 hours. It's hard, though, with two jobs, to not just find time to write, but to find the time to be in the right headspace to write. And this one requires a little research. But it should be fun.

I'm proud to announce that I'll be interviewed by Ross Juneau of Exactly Too Many Magazine whenever we can get our schedules lined up.

I'd also like to tease a project my wife Katty Pulsar and my girlfriend Raven Storm are working on called Body Beautiful. It's a series of AI-image edits of body horror presented as motivational posters. I've gotten a peek and they're delightfully gruesome and funny. That set will be up on Daydream Misfit before too long.

For my "past" project, take a look at "Super Squirrel Bowl," a farce about that time a psychic FBI agent tried to stop Kim Jong Un from sabotaging the world's biggest football game using remote control tree rats. I hadn't written in a long time, and this was me loosening up and practicing my bullshit. Would love your opinion on it. https://www.daydreammisfit.com/post/super-squirrel-bowl

Thanks, Neil Oldman
