Neil Oldman Past/Present/Future Review 9/15/2026

Back for one of my periodic check-ins. It's fun to look back at the previous update and see what I thought I would be getting accomplished and what did and didn't get done.
First off, the movie review for "Together" came off as planned. I think I manifested the right amounts of disdain and adoration. Continued scheduled dribblings to Confessions and Lies and YHBSTPIAG, though the latter is a little overdue for more Henrik Vintergaard backstory. We've met the wife and parents, now it's time to meet the children. "Body Beautiful" became "Personal Growths." Katty and Raven knocked it out of the park. Got stuff done!
On the other hand, the Exactly Too Many Magazine interview hasn't come off yet because editor Ross Juneau is currently dealing with Maple syrup urine disease (MSUD). Yes, it's real, I had to look it up. Get better soon, Ross!
The short story "Last Night on Buffy" is still on the short list, but I back-burnered it for now. Murder most foul! But with 90s TV.
That got delayed because I instead got inspired to write "Untouchable," an idea-snippet that's been on my list for years now. I finally found the framing for it and decided it needed to be first-person fiction, narrated by a beaten down autist in a prison cell. Like everything else I do, completely autobiographical. Maybe. Katty made a killer graphic for that one, but I'm letting the story rest for a few days, so I can go back to it one more time with fresh eyes. It will probably post Friday as a blog entry.
I also recently made several website internal maps to try to help Google figure out exactly what we are and what we do: "Best Fiction," "Surreal Visuals, Fiction and Weirdness," and "Visitor's Guide." I know that of the billions of people in the world, there must be a few thousand who would enjoy this site and what we're trying to do. Getting the search engines and social media sites to connect you with us has been a lot of work. My SEO-fu is weak, but I'm working on it.
I produced and posted the Satyr News article "Urethra-Invading Parasite Spreading Across Florida," which immediately inspired the headline "Smoldering Crater Not Caused by AI, Says ChatGPT." I'll get to it. It's on the list.
So that's the past and present of it. In the near future, we've got "Three Ape Fable," a very old piece I wrote which has just been waiting around for the right graphic. I'm making a gallery for "Vampire Nurse Recovery Floor," a spillover project from our Pinup page BFF which I thought was good enough for the main site. And for Halloween, Raven and Katty are working on visual series "The Witches" and "Serial Killer Hotties," which should be awesome!
